Favourite LUSH Products

Ahhhh, I'm getting a little obsessed with LUSH at the moment! I just can't help it, the smell from the shop just draws me in! Therefore I thought I'd share my thoughts on some of the products I've been loving recently.

THE COMFORTER Bubble Bar-
Firstly I just want to say how amazing this bubble bar smells! I find the warming smell of blackcurrant very relaxing, especially if I'm feeling tired or stressed after a long day. Compared to other LUSH bubble bars, this one is nearly twice the size, therefore you will only need to crumble half of it into your bath (under a running tap). It turns my bath water a deep pink colour and adds loads of big, fluffy bubbles.

RRP- £4.50 each.

CUPCAKE Fresh Face Mask-
Being a HUGE chocoholic, I just couldn't resist trying this chocolatey face mask from LUSH. Not only is it great for anyone who is concerned about spots and breakouts, as it draws out any dirt and impurities from the skin, it also smells AMAZING! Fresh mint stimulates and tones the skin, whilst cocoa butter softens and moisturises. After using this mask I saw an immediate difference to my skin. Any redness from spots was dramatically reduced and my skin felt deeply cleansed. As these face masks are made from fresh ingredients, don't forget they need to be kept in the fridge and used up within 3 weeks of purchasing.

RRP- £5.95 each.
REMEMBER, DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR EMPTY POTS! If you take back 5 to your nearest LUSH store then they give you another mask for FREE :)

SEX BOMB Bath Bomb-
Being a complete girly girl, the first reason I was drawn to this bath bomb was because of how cute and girly it looked. I then gave it a quick sniff, and WOW I was sold! I immediately feel relaxed when I drop this into my bath water by the smell of jasmine and ylang ylang. The smell is quite strong, so if you're not a fan of strong smells then this might not be for you, but I personally love it! The rose in the centre of this bath bomb floats around your bath once your bath bomb has stopped fizzing and my bath water turns a lovely purple colour.

RRP- £3.25 each.

Why Is Facial Exfoliation So Important?

In my opinion exfoliating should be a beauty must in everyone's skincare routine. It is great for all skin types but I would highly recommend it for anyone who is concerned with congestion, acne scarring, pigmentation or premature ageing. I promise you, you will notice a huge difference to your skin if you are exfoliating on a regular basis.

My personal favorite product is Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant. Rice Enzymes, Salicylic Acid and Papain gently polish away dead skin cells, instantly making the skin appear refreshed, brighter and smoother. I love Daily Microfoliant because it's gentle and I find a lot of other products to be very harsh on the skin, leaving it feeling sore and looking very red. A big thank you to Dermalogica for producing such an amazing product! :)

So why is exfoliating so important? Firstly, it removes dead skin cells from the skins surface, making it appear a lot brighter and fresher. This also helps any products you apply afterwards to work better as they can penetrate deeper into the skin.
As we age, cell turnover slows down making the skin look dull and lackluster, therefore exfoliation is the best 'anti ageing' tip I can give you! This is because when we exfoliate we promote skin renewal, therefore we stimulate new cells to be pushed upwards towards the surface, and these are the healthy, plump cells we all want to see.

When should I exfoliate? Usually you should do this around 1-3 times per week, but if like me you use, or are looking to try, the Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica you can use this everyday as it's very gentle on the skin. In your skincare routine exfoliating should always be done after your cleanser but before a face mask, toner or moisturiser. Just beware, over exfoliating can cause inflamed skin, dehydration, sensitivity or premature ageing, so please don't over do it! Always stick to the recommended amount of times per week and don't get carried away!

TOP TIPS:
  • Don't forget your lips!
  • NEVER use body exfoliators on your face.
  • Do not exfoliate immediately after shaving or waxing.
  • Avoid products with sharp grains as these can damage the skin.
  • NEVER exfoliate skin that has recently been sunburned.

I really hope you enjoyed this post! If you would like to know more about Dermalogica's Daily Microfoliant then click HERE :)

Review: Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

I can't even begin to explain how many foundations I have tried and tested over the years. I have tried everything from high end expensive foundations to high street brands, but I have never found a foundation I have fallen totally in love with, until now!

I have always been stuck in the mind set of 'you get what you pay for' when it comes to good quality beauty products, but recently I've tried a lot of high street brands and I never thought I'd say it, but yes, I'm starting to change my mind. I think it's just finding something that works for you regardless of the price. This foundation only costs £8.99 from Boots/Superdrug and Rimmel products are usually on 3 for 2, therefore you can stock up on some new products without breaking the bank or feeling too naughty.

This foundation gives a beautiful flawless, natural and dewy finish to the skin. I would say it has a light to medium coverage but I also find it buildable if you wanted a slightly higher coverage. I'm quite lucky to be blessed with pretty good skin, so I personally don't see the point of covering it in something heavy. The shade I have got is '103 True Ivory'. I find this a really good colour match for my pale skin tone. I apply this foundation with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, which immediately makes my skin look more radiant with a flawless finish.

I also really like the packaging of this product, the glass bottle makes it appear a little more expensive and I also love the pump dispenser, this lets you control how much product you need with no mess or wastage. I have found with a lot of high end brands you have to buy the pump separately which I personally find very annoying!

I have been using Rimmel Wake Me Up for a few months now and I don't have any bad things to say. I absolutely love this foundation and it will definitely be a staple in my makeup bag for a long time!

Thank you for reading this post, I hope you found this somewhat helpful :)
Have any of you used this foundation? If so, what were your thoughts?
